So far behind....
Whoa. I have got a ton of LJ updating to do. I have to post the final chapter of DMBW and all six chapters that I have of "Hopeless Wishing", my (relatively) new Wes/Lilah fic. I've been putting all of this off because it's such a pain to go through and code everything.

In the meantime, a small rant: What is with all the Michael Gambon hate? Am I the only person in the world who thought he was SOTOTALLYAWESOME as Dumbledore? My own mother, with whom I usually agree about everything, thinks he was horrible.

There seem to be three main reasons why people don't particularly like him:

1) His ever-changing accent. Sometimes he's Irish, sometimes he's not. As for myself, I don't find this particularly unrealistic. I'm from the south. Usually I have a Southern accent. But occasionally, if I'm talking in a lower voice, I don't. Personally, I don't even notice Gambon's accent that much.

2) He's energetic. REALLY energetic. Which I think is great. Don't get me wrong, Richard Harris was a wonderful actor (God rest his soul). But he always looked like he was sleepwalking as Dumbledore. I think our favorite headmaster should be buoyant, just like good ol' Gambon is.

3) That little scene in GoF where he rushes at Harry. See, this is one of the reasons why I think Gambon is Just. That. Cool. Why shouldn't Dumbledore panic, I ask? Harry's his favorite student (to all appearances), and he's just been put in a heck of a lot of danger thanks to his name popping out. It was a nice little human touch, in my humble opinion. Dumbledore's not perfect.

Oops. This small rant turned into a kinda medium-sized rant. Ah, well.

Current book: Wicked (I'm a little bored with it, to tell the truth.)

I am becoming very slightly bothered by a development with Diary of a Mad, Blue Woman. When I first started writing it, I intended it to be a darkfic with a side of humor. As the story progresses, I realize it is quickly becoming humor with a touch of darkness.

I desperately wish to change this. I like my fics to be chock full of angst. I want layers, darn it. So as much as it pains me to say it, I think I'm going to have to set down some kind of outline. I've gone without one thus far, but I'm starting to wonder if a change is in order. We'll see.

Two! Two broken DVD players! And I fixed them both.

*evil laugh*

One of them had some hair and fuzz wrapped around the cog that opens the DVD player. The other was quite a bit trickier. I had to undo 14 screws and physically pull the darn thing apart to force it open. After that, it worked fine.

Now I just have to figure out how to get my VCR to rewind without spitting out the tape.

I went looking for some good Wesley/Lilah icons, and ended up with a dozen Illyria ones. I also stocked up on Puppet Angel.

But what I really want is a Spike icon. A gorgeous one. I don't know why I'm being so picky about him. Any icon with him is yummy. But I use a free LJ account. I've only got one spot for a Spike icon, so I want it to be good.

I really shouldn't be spending so much time with LJ icons.

DMBW Chapter Two: Tolerance )

I honestly don't know if I can salvage my Snape ficlet. I'm starting to think I should just scrap it and start on my Wes/Lilah fic. Snape might be beyond my capabilities.

So tired. Incapable of forming complete sentences.

Posted 2nd chapter of "Diary" to FF.Net. Also stayed up till five in the AM writing my Snapefic, only to realize that Snape's voice is all wrong. Will try to fix it tomorrow.

To shower and bed.

Someone has favorited me as an author! Whoop!

I've just finished the second chapter of "Diary", and I'll probably post it tomorrow evening. I'm not as proud of it as I was of the first chapter, but whatever.

I'm also starting my first Snapefic.

Someone has favorited my story! Big, big moment for me!

(And no, I'm not going to pay attention to the fact that the person happens to have 91 other favorite stories, thank you very much.)

Yay!
Woohoo! The first chapter of my first fanfic is up on FF.Net!

Diary of a Mad, Blue Woman

Even if I don't get any reviews (it's not exactly the best Angel fic on the web), it's still satisfying to know it exists.

Now I need to go finish Chapter Two.

Finished Artemis Fowl. It wasn't the greatest piece of literature I've ever read, but it was cute enough that I've started reading the next in the series.

I'm only on page 67 of "Don Quixote", out of over 1000.

I'm currently working on my first fanfic ever. I always thought my first fanfic would be something in the Harry Potter universe, but lo and behold, it's Angel. And now I'm left wondering: Where would I post it? FF.Net? Not many people seem to frequent Angel stories over there.

Grrr, why couldn't this be HP? I'd know where to post it if it were HP.

Current books: Don Quixote (yeah, I'll be on this one for a while) and Artemis Fowl (almost done)

Do you remember in "Order of the Phoenix" how Harry spent half the time YELLING?! IN CAPS LOCK?! Well, I was able to empathize with him a little today:

Me: WORK, YOU &@#^ DVD RECORDER, WORK!!
DVD Recorder: x_x

Me: WORK, YOU &@#^ PIANO KEYBOARD, WORK!!
Piano keyboard: x_x

Me: WORK, YOU &@#^ MICROWAVE WORK, WORK!!
Microwave: x_x

Me: WORK, YOU &@#^ XBOX, WORK!!
Xbox: x_x

Okay, so it wasn't really the piano's fault so much as my bad playing. And the microwave isn't broken, I'm just not used to having to hit the quickset and then add 30 seconds at a time. I was trying to cook Pop Tarts today (I don't have a toaster), and I couldn't set it for 10 seconds. I had to hit 30 seconds and then wait until 10 seconds had passed. Which is frustrating, because that's 10 seconds I could be taking to get a glass of milk, darn it!

*calm*

Anyway, I've started this Live Journal. Don't ask me why, since I don't plan on telling my friends and family about it. And every time I start a diary or journal, I get about three entries in before I give up. Here's hoping I have more luck this time.
